Letter to Members

We hope you are safe and well under these difficult circumstances with the Coronavirus (Covid 19) Virus causing world wide mayhem.

It is important for our committee to pen a letter to our parents and players (Members) to keep you updated on club movements. The Club have been advised by the leagues that the majority of teams have agreed to the season being void and all results expunged. This means no team will get promotion or any team being relegated.

All Cup competitions will hopefully be played and completed at the start of the new season. We will keep you all updated when Hampshire FA confirm when we are able to resume training again which I’m sure all players cannot wait for.

Just to recap on the season, the club has taken huge steps forward within our coaching philosophy with many teams benefiting from this coaching. The club has provided new goals, equipment for training, and match day games along with new home and away Kits with our Sponsor, Paultons Park on every shirt.

Our training venues are of a high standard which enable players to progress their development from the high level coaching sessions being provided.

We have developed a brand new website, which links into our social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik-Tok and our new website has a private chat room for each team so players can chat to each other socially. Feel free to check it out.

The Committee have agreed that due to all leagues being void and the government restrictions on gatherings, our annual presentation for the end of season has been cancelled. We however aim to provide a much bigger presentation for next year as this will fall in with our 50th anniversary year and nobody should miss this one!

We have our AGM in May and under our normal procedures, we would welcome all members to come and make their voices count and as per our constitution, our current committee has to stand down and seek re-election. Despite these unusual circumstances we invite nominations for all committee positions from our members.

We are particularly keen to recruit for current vacancies on the committee and would welcome additional support in areas such as schools liaison, fundraising, auditing and being a trustee.

Our club continues to grow at a rapid rate with exciting times and news announcements ahead, so we welcome as many members as possible to become more involved in helping to run our fantastic community football club, who welcomes players of all abilities, puts development at the heart of everything it does and has been in the hearts of the local community for 50 years.

The deadline for applications is 8th May 2020.

If we receive any nominations from current members and because of this, we need to hold an election, this will be done as soon as possible, once the government has lifted the restrictions that are currently in order.

The following are a few movements we are aware of for the AGM:-

Tracey Huckle is stepping down after giving many years to the club as a previous manager, committee member and the current Treasurer. We hope you all agree that without her support and dedication to Winsor United we would have been lost. Thank you Tracey for all that you have done for Winsor United.

Anne Boden is stepping down as Club Secretary and seeking the Treasurer role. Beckie Gill is stepping down as School Liaison Officer and seeking the Secretary role.

This is a very exceptional AGM and we hope our members understand, if you have any questions please feel free to come to us.

We see great times ahead for our wonderful club but this would not be possible without the great support we receive from players, parents, coaches and the committee.

Stick with us, support us, help us… together we are so much stronger.
